A Yellow Weather warning remains in place for much of the country following the latest named storm to arrive on our shores. Rain, ice and snow hit many areas across Ireland as temperatures plummeted over night, This storm has been named Jake by Met Eireann. The  snow-ice warning remains in place for Connacht, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.

Heavy snow showers accumulated on higher ground, while gusts of up to 130kmh battered these areas around dawn this morning. 


As always our neighbours in the UK seem to have been hit more severely, as their government has issued over 6 severe flood warnings .
